was born in Dublin into a family steeped in the traditional music of Ireland. At the age of 15 he became All Ireland Fiddle Champion for three years running. Then he studied classical music at The Royal College of Music and has since performed with the world`s greatest musicians, composers, and groups including The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The London Philharmonic Orchestra, The Philharmonia Orchestra, Girls Aloud, Oasis, Verve, Robbie Williams, The Spice Girls, and on many film scores including The Lord of the Rings, Patriot Games, Mrs Brown, Legends of the Fall, Charlotte Gray, Tipping the Velvet and The Shipping News.
